After school programs are offered to VMS students during the academic school year. Limited classes will also be available during the summer months. Students may enroll in any additional clubs or classes of their choice which include Music, Art, Dance, Yoga and Girl/Boy Scouts. Classes are offered on campus.


The following programs are being offered for the 2007/2008 school year.

LSDance
Dance:
Livermore School of Dance joins VMS this year offering a variety of dance classes for our Primary and Elementary students. To learn more about the Livermore School of Dance visit their website at http://www.livermoredance.com/.

yoga
Yoga for Kids:Yogakids
Our yoga programs teach yoga as a springboard to creativity, building strength, balance, flexibility, focus, and imagination! A yoga class for Primary students is held on Wednesdays after school and Lower Elementary students meet on Thursdays.


ArtArt:
Our art teacher Kate Malson offers extra-curricular art classes for our elementary and middle school children. The younger children (grades 1-3) meet Tuesdays after school and the older children (grades 3-5) meet on Wednesdays. (Third years are placed based on ability.)  A new class for middle school students will start in February and be held on Mondays after school.


Primary art classes are also offered for children ages 4-6. Classes are offered on Tuesdays or Wednesdays from 3:35-4:45.

Choral Group:
Our music teacher Jack Quigley offers a choral group for Upper Elementary students. They meet Wednesday mornings at 7:45.

Private Guitar Lessons:
Jack Quigley also offers 30 minute private guitar lessons.

Christina Kindemusik
Kindermusik/Guitar: Kindermusik
Christina Berg of Sycamore Strings Academy was a full-time music teacher at VMS before deciding to focus her energy primarily on small group lessons. She offers guitar lessons on Mondays at VMS for children in 2nd through 5th grade.


 

Piano:
Modern and classical piano lessons are offered for our elementary students. All lessons are given one on one, and range from 30 to 60 minutes in length.

Cooking: Kids Kan Kook

The Lower Elementary children have the opportunty to learn how to cook with Neha Bubna, one of our Primary teachers.

Scouts
Girl Scouts:

Girl Scouts of the USA, dedicated solely to girls, promises an accepting and nurturing environment where girls build their character and skills as they venture into the world. In partnership with committed adult volunteers, girls participate in group activities and projects designed to develop qualities that will serve them all their lives, like leadership, strong values, social conscience, and conviction about their own potential and self-worth.

Book Club

Book Club:
Karen Nowak (Primary Teacher) is hosting a book club for children ages 3.5 - 6 years. Children will gain the love of reading and story telling by exploring literary pieces through all five senses including music and movement as well as hands-on activities.


It's ApParent Band:

Do you play an instrument of have a hidden musical talent? Jack Quigley is organizing a local band for parents with possible performances at school functions.
