Dear Family and Friends of Valley Montessori School,

We have the privilege at VMS to prepare a place that ignites the joy of lifelong learning in all children. We are surrounded by examples of this from the very youngest child who is independent in self care to the oldest student who hungers to understand the complexities of geometry. The partnership we have forged with you makes our goal a reality. We ask that you continue to actively partner with us in the work we do by contributing to our Annual Fund Campaign.

The tuition paid by VMS parents coupled with our other operating income covers only 93% of our expenses. That means all of our families are on a scholarship of sorts. Our annual program costs exceed what we collect in tuition; the remainder of our revenue comes from Annual Fund contributions and our spring auction. These activities enable you to pay for a portion of the program expenses with tax-deductible donations. Specifically for the Annual Fund, a contribution of $375 from every family would “fill the gap.”

Our Annual Campaign goal is 100% participation. Please affirm your place in the VMS community by contributing generously at the level that is appropriate for you. A well supported annual fund sends a strong message to potential grant makers that our school is a worthy investment. Individual contributions to the VMS Annual Fund vary greatly, but let me assure you that no amount is too small – every contribution makes a difference.

Many companies sponsor matching gift programs for their employees and retirees. Please check with your employers to find out if they would match or even multiply your donation. The children we raise today are the leaders of tomorrow. I see the signs that we will be safe in their hands. They understand responsibility, hard work and what a community can do together.
