Teresa Jones joined the VMS staff in 1996. Initially, working as lunch mom and substitute in Toddler and Primary classes, she discovered her love of the Montessori philosophy of education and life. After many years in Primary classrooms and assisting with After School Art programs, she now acts as a substitute teacher in Elementary and Middle School, helping out at all levels and areas of the curriculum in addition to offering After School Art classes at the Primary and Lower Elementary levels.
She holds a Primary level Montessori credential from Fountainhead Montessori Adult Education, a BA – Fine Arts degree from Indiana University, and a Masters in Montessori Education from St. Catherine’s, and has taken many professional development classes, most recently “Positive Discipline in the Classroom” through the Montessori Institute. When not at VMS, Teresa enjoys spending time with her family and cats, reading, quilting, traveling, and most things chocolate.
